I won't say it's not guilty gear because that's stupid, but as a GG product and FG, it's terrible and just soulless, you could boot up SFV and get the same experience, meanwhile Uni, BBCF, +R, Nitroplus and a whole lot of other games are entirely unique- Strive lacks that

And with strike throw being the prevalent option, it's just terribly sad that this was the game that arcsys sold the most, because the art is gorgeous, the gameplay is eye gouging though, and they're gonna keep pushing stuff like that since it sells

A game will hold as much as how you're able to deal with bullshit, usually with it's universal systems, or we'll have IaMP (too defensive, matches take too long) or SF2 (matches are almost instant because defense sucks) and currently strive goes to the "too offensive" side

Which is shown by how weak high lows are compared to strike throw, which is just sad an uninteresting, which takes us to how defense is so unnecessarily harder in strive, FDs spend much more meter and IBs are basically SBs now, that's unreasonable

Which in turn made player expression worse and severely limited what's possible compared to older games, then comes delayed airdashes which basically kill the purpose of the damn thing, limits the game so much more in all situations, defensively and offensively
